Blessings in the Pain
Romans 15:13
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy
and peace in believing, that you may abound
in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Our loved one runs home to our Father after struggling with cancer, finally out
of pain.
Our heart breaks over the loss of losing them.
Our prodigal child hits bottom, finding himself/herself alone, reaping the consequences of his/her actions.
Our heart breaks to see our child so broken and desperate.
Our friend of 66 years, and at the age of 92, is called home to be with her Lord and Savior, finally at rest after a full life on earth.
Our heart is broken at the thought of not hearing her sweet voice
again, sharing our hearts with one another.
We know being free of pain is what we want for our loved one. It is not until our child comes to their end they realize the need to run to the Father for help. And just as much, we know we will all die. Nevertheless, what we know is best doesn't keep our heart from breaking.
The Lord does not promise a life free of trials, heartache, or tribulation. What He does promise is that He will walk through our suffering with us.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul.
In times such as this, may we allow our Father to be our comfort, carrying us through the pain as He heals our broken heart. He alone will turn our sorrow into dancing as He draws us to Himself.
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.
