Turn

                                                      John 20:16

                                                      Jesus said to her, "Mary!"
She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni!"

Three days after Jesus had been crucified, Mary Magdalene, devastated and filled with fear, stood outside the tomb where He had been buried. Seeing the stone rolled away, His cloths lying where Jesus had been, she assumed they had taken her Savior away. Turning, she saw who she thought was the gardener standing in front of her.

Jesus said to her, "Woman why are you weeping? Whom are you
                     seeking?"
She, supposing Him to be the gardener; said to Him, "Sir, if you have
carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take
                     Him away."
Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni!" (which
is to say, Teacher.).                                             __John 20:15-16

At that moment, Mary knew Jesus was alive, that He had come back as He said He would. In an instant her fears were gone, her sorrow turned to joy.

Do you know Jesus knows your name? Before you were born He knew the color of your eyes, the texture of your hair, how tall you would be, where you would live, the family awaiting your arrival, and what your future would hold. Before you were placed in the arms of your loving mother, Jesus loved you with a never-ending love.

My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet formed.
And in Your book they all were written,
                     The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.              __Psalm 139:15-16

Just as Mary was devastated with grief until she saw her Savior, we, too, have times when life becomes overwhelming. When we find ourselves in this place, may we turn toward Jesus. As we do, we will hear Him say,  (your name), and our sorrow will be turned to joy, our fears to peace, and we will know He is there, just as He said He would be.

He will not leave you nor forsake you.               __Deuteronomy 31:6b
